Guidelines for preparing and submitting entries to the 2026 IEEE SciVis Contest.

Submission deadline closed The review process is underway, and reviewers are being assigned to submitted entries.
Presentations · Monday, November 9 · 8:00–11:30am Shortlisted candidates will be invited to present at IEEE VIS 2026 in Boston. A virtual option will be available for those unable to attend in person. Coffee break 9:30–10:00am. Schedule subject to change.

What to Include

Each submission should include the following:

  • Paper (PDF) A 3–4 page manuscript describing your visualization and analysis techniques, plus one optional page for references. Focus on methods and results—avoid lengthy background or data descriptions. Follow the VGTC formatting guidelines (LaTeX and Word templates available). Append explanatory images to the PDF. Maximum file size: 50 MB.
  • Video An MPEG, AVI, or QuickTime video (maximum 10 minutes) demonstrating your system, methods, or process in action.
  • Authorship Individual and group submissions are both welcome. Include the full author list at submission time.

Top entries will be invited to present at the contest. The best submission may also be invited to submit an extended version to IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications (CG&A) for publication consideration.

How to Submit

Submissions were accepted through Precision Conference until the deadline. For reference, the process was:

  1. Go to new.precisionconference.com
  2. Sign in or create an account
  3. Open the Submissions tab
  4. Under Make a new submission, select VGTC (Society), VIS 2026 (Conference/Journal), and VIS 2026 SciVis Contest (Track):

Dates follow a timeline similar to previous years and may be adjusted slightly:
