💡 Is there a registration fee to participate?

No, submission to the 2026 IEEE SciVis Contest is completely free. You do not need to pay or register to submit for this competition. All you need to do is use the provided data and create insightful or creative visualizations.

Please note: Registration for the IEEE VIS Conference is separate and handled by their organizing committee.

👥 Can I participate as a team?

Yes! You may participate as an individual or as a group of up to 5 members. There’s no hard limit, but we suggest keeping teams small and fair for everyone.

🌍 Who can join the contest?

Anyone in the world is welcome to join. The contest is open globally, and we encourage participation from students, researchers, industry professionals, and data visualization enthusiasts.

📅 When will the contest take place?

Participants can start working on their visualizations at any time. However:

• The submission portal is expected to open in late 2025
• The final deadline will be mid-2026

We’ll provide updates as soon as the IEEE VIS team opens the submission portal.

📝 What is the process to join the challenge?

There is no registration form required to join. Simply follow these steps:

1. Visit the official website
2. Download notebooks and explore the provided datasets
3. Work on one or more of the listed tasks (some are optional)
4. Prepare and submit your entry
